Church Activities

Every Sunday the people of Immanuel meet to worship God.  There are two main services, at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. You are very welcome to join us. 

Our services are led by the minister and include singing, prayers, readings from the Bible and teaching.  A typical service lasts just over an hour.

Every fortnight the morning service includes the Lord’s Supper. We encourage only those who are committed Christians to participate in this part of the service.

Fellowship Lunch
Occasionally, we have a fellowship lunch in the side hall after the Sunday morning service.  Visitors are welcome to join us.

After the evening service there is an informal time for refreshments. It is a good time to make new friends.

We encourage parents to bring their children into the services with them. If a child needs to be taken out because he or she is crying, there is a room available where the service is relayed.

We have a number of regular events – Sunday School, midweek meeting, drop in and ladies fellowship.

Sunday School and Catechism Class
Our Sunday School starts at 9:30 a.m. before the morning service. It is for children ages 4+ and runs during school term time. We usually start with a Bible song and then hear a story.  We then do a craft that is related to the story.  We also try to learn a new Bible verse each week.

The catechism class is for children 10 years and over.  We join with the Sunday School for a Bible song and are learning the Westminster Shorter Catechism.

Midweek Meeting
The midweek meeting is on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. It is a time for the whole congregation to sing, consider the Bible, and pray together. This informal service lasts around an hour. 

Coffee Morning
During term time, all are welcome to attend the regular coffee morning on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. in the church.   

Ladies Fellowship
The ladies meet around once a month, usually on a mid week morning for a time of fellowship and study.  Meetings are held at the church.

Youth group (age 11-15) meets most Fridays 7:00-8:30 p.m.  Young people need to be registered by a parent/guardian.  We have a few spaces left.

Each month, the teenagers of the church meet for a Bible talk and some informal time together.
